A dedicated and experienced blue-collar professional with a career spanning 23 years in the elevator construction industry. Born and raised in the city of Chicago, Enrique is the proud son of a Mexican immigrant, inheriting a strong work ethic and commitment to community values.
Enrique's journey in the construction field began at the age of 18 when he started as a union laborer. His early years were marked by hard work, determination, and a passion for the craft. Over the course of 24 years, Enrique's expertise grew, and he became a seasoned elevator constructor, contributing significantly to the industry's advancements.
A staunch supporter of workers' rights and fair labor practices, Enrique has been a dedicated union employee for 29 years. His commitment to the principles of solidarity and unity has not only benefited him personally but has also positively impacted the lives of many fellow workers.
Family holds a special place in Enrique's heart, and his role as a father of eight and a loving husband for 29 years reflects his dedication to creating a strong and supportive home environment. Now that his children have grown into productive members of the community, Enrique believes it is the opportune time to give back to the community that has played a pivotal role in shaping his life.
Having recently moved to Joliet six years ago, Enrique sees this as a chance to connect with a new community and contribute to its growth and well-being. His deep sense of community service and a desire to make a positive impact drive him to step into the public sphere. Enrique envisions a future where he can leverage his skills, experience, and passion to serve his community in a public capacity, making a difference in the lives of those he represents. With a solid foundation in blue-collar work, a rich background as the son of an immigrant, and commitment to community values, Enrique Ruiz is ready to embark on a new chapter of public service for the growth of his community.
